When I joined the Christian Fellowship Churches in Nairobi on the 10^th May, 2003, I was a Young Man fascinated by the Kind of Gospel being preached by the Holy Ghost Filled, Fire Baptized and Heavenly Bound preaches who preached on Sundays, Revivals, Conferences, Discipleship Gatherings for Men, Youth Retreats, and even occasionally in Funerals.

The most fascinating thing about all these services was the fact that every preacher whenever they Prayed or Preached, they would Say “ Lets Pray for Pastor Wayman Mitchell as He Ministers in Prescott Arizona.” Or at almost every sermon a minister will Quote Pastor Wayman Mitchell, or give an Illustration on what he did here or there or in a particular place. I was attracted to this Name. I wanted to know more, I wanted to Hear Him speak, I wanted to Read what he wrote, I wanted to Touch Him with My Hands, I wanted to perform Miracles like God used Him to do, I wanted to Preach like Him. However, I never wanted to collide with him because I heard from the Preachers whom he raised that when he called you aside you will be in for a life changing lecture. For My Love for Him, I went to a fiend Pastor of Mine and he permitted me to Study from the Church Library named after Pastor Mitchell, I got Quotes Like “If you don’t Read Your Bible for yourself, how will you know I am Preaching the Truth” “If you don’t read your Bible, you are a fool” I read books like “Pursuit of Destiny” or “Pastor Wayman Mitchell and His Men” “We shall Conquer the Land” I listened to tens of Tapes that stirred Men to go the Fielded, that challenged them to lay down their lives for God, I personally picked my call from these preaching…. I read and Read numerous articles in the Trumpet and written sermons from my Pastors files.

Well, when announcement was made of His attendance of the East African Bible Conference, Man, that was it; I was excited to the point I went to the Tailor made my first Suit, though it ended up being oversize this I deed lest He find me unprepared for His arrival. We were sent to put conference posters on the streets at night though we feared if 

we got arrested by the City Council for mounting of Posters without the City Council seal or permit then we might miss the opportunity of a life time; The opportunity to Meet a Man I had desired to meet all my few Years of salvation by then.

When He came, it was just too awesome! All I desired to see was right in front of me; I touched Him, I listened to Him, I mimicked His voice Preaching, when people were not around I stood on the pulpit, gestured as he would have, held my bible as he would have, and projected my Voice as he would have, I took notes, I bought the Tapes and I went out after the Conference to Outreaches and Ministry: Market Places in the afternoons testifying, Preaching, and winning souls, I never missed Thursday Movie shows, Sunday Noon Prison outreach, and I attempted the work of God as if Pastor Wayman Mitchell had given me a blue print for Ministry in that Conference. I still desire his return to my country. I looked forward to it and moreover the fact that I spoke to Him left a Mark in My heart that even death will not erase. “He handed Us Eternity”

As I was in the Bathroom, I started to recall a few things that I desire to put on paper today, I will not speak much but allow me to speak my mind and heart. It’s true that Wayman Mitchell will die and this might happened before the return of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have keenly looked at the trajectory of His Ministry even as he is 85yrs old today; I found out Pastor Mitchell was born on October 9, 1929 in the US state of Arkansas. His father decided to move the family to Prescott, Arizona in 1933, in search of work during the Great Depression. There were five children, Wayman being the youngest. Arizona is where he and his wife Nelda currently reside. Mitchell was stationed on the Island of Guam this was between 1948–1952, for the U.S. military during the Korean War. While there he was head supervisor of the maintenance shop. During this time he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and offered a candidacy at an officer training school. After his military service he met Nelda Henderson at a dance in Phoenix in 1952. They were married on February 7, 1953; He has probably been Married for 60plus years by now, He got born again, Planted or oversaw many churches Planted, been a missionary, Preached over 10,000 sermons, and is still going strong with the Ministry. He is focused to “Go ye into the whole world and Preach the Gospel to every creature” He still lays His hand on the sick and they get well; His most very useful but signature method of letting the sick sit on the Chair with their legs stretched them they get prayed form. While they watch “a Miracle”

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell dies today, I expect the church to be the same; the quality of the sermons delivered, the quality of the disciples raised, the quality of churches planted, quality of lives the leaders will live as they commit to “teach those who will ho will also commit it to the faithful others”.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I still expect to see the Crusades done with songs about Jesus, the Blood with minimum dances, focus on the souls, witnessing, Magnetic Dramas, giving out of flyers, taking name of those who have given their lives to Christ, Discipleship classes attended, Serious Men’s meetings properly attended with quality teachings, Conferences Organized and Properly attended and outreaches more organized.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I don’t expect women to preach on our Pulpits, nor do I expect them to lead the Fellowship.

If Wayman Pastor Mitchell Dies today I do not expect any level of discipline lowered. I do not expect pastors, leaders or workers in the church who fall off standards to still remain in the Ministry or resist discipline.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today I do not expect Rebels to do what they want with the ministry, we will resist them, we will rebuke them, and we will deal with them according to the Bible.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I still expect Trumpets to come to Africa, I still expect Leadership to Preach in the African Conferences, Revival and Preaching Tours and Be Missionaries.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I do not expect African Pastors to behave like the African Politicians and start demanding for election of the Fellowship leader. I do not expect Riots or any demonstration of defiance. Whoever God will choose let Him be the Man who will take this Ministry to the next level as we wait for the return of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I do not expect the Church to Beatify Him and Call Him St. Wayman Mitchell.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I do not expect Him to be buried inside the Prescott Arizona Sanctuary.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I do not expect our Pastors to start wedding Guy Couples. I say, “NO!! NO!! NO!!”

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, I expect all things to remain normal or be made better.

If Pastor Wayman Mitchell Dies today, will the transition be Smooth?
